The inaugural Grand Tournament featuring heats is over!
After 8 hours of gruelling big-stack play, sirraffay playing out of Betsson took home the $81,000 first prize. Short-stacked going into the last four, Sirraffay used the great structure of the Grand Tournament to his advantage and climbed his way back.
All-in all, heats turned out to be a great addition to the Grand Tournament format and is destined to become a regular feature of this great event.
Stay tuned for the next Grand Tourmament played on 26th to 28th of October. The new Guaranteed Prize Pool amount is yet to be determined…
September 30th, 200723 players move on…
23 players survived day 1b and will merge with yesterday’s 67 players to form a final consisting of 90 players battling for $326,000. Top 40 pays tomorrow. The heat is certainly on!

Concerns that the Friday flight had drawn too much attention to itself, proved unfounded. 98 players elected to start their their Grand Tournament challenge today making the total 326 – blowing the $200,000 guarantee out of the sky!

Day 1a is over
After 5 hours of scheduled play, 68 players are still alive and kicking and will move on to the Sunday Final taking their stacks with them. Wp everyone!

Wow, blowing all expectations out the window, 228 players have signed-up to start the Grand Tournament today.
That means the the guarantee is already passed with tomorrow’s additional starting day still to come.
It appears the next Grand Tournament will have to ante-up on the guarantee significantly. Nice!
September 27th, 2007T-minus 30 hours…
30 hours to until the premiere. With fresh coverage in several reputed gaming magazines, we’re really psyched about the introduction of multiple starting-heats to the Grand Tournament XVII.
And we can’t wait to boost the $200,000 Guarantee significantly in the future as the concept of heast catches on. Right now, 87 players have elected to sign-up for the new Friday flight.

With just over 48 hours remaining until the premiere of the added Grand Tournament Day 1 on Friday , almost 70 players have already opted to take advantage of this new choice!
It is of course best if the two heats on Friday and Saturday get about the same number of entrants, but due to how the system works, it makes no real difference for the Final on Sunday.
