It’s a wrap!
Well, with all of the Ongame network players now eliminated our time here at the PokerStars.com EPT Budapest is almost over *sniff sniff*.
It’s been a great tournament for some of our players and no doubt, also a great experience…even for our EPT veterans! But with all good things…there has to come an end. It’s been an action packed 4 days in Hungary’s capital city, filled with the drama, excitement and disappointment that goes hand in hand with the EPT. The Main Event started straight away with excitement and continued to rise until climaxing this afternoon when Pantelis Pavlis of Poker.gr was eliminated in the cruelest of fashions. It was a hard pill to swallow at the time, but looking back now…the man from Greece qualified for $30 and is taking home just over $10,800 for nearly 3 days of poker. That’s about $617 per hour! Speaking to him this afternoon once the initial shock had blown over, the smile from Pantelis that we had seen all week, had returned. The memory of his EPT will live with him for quite some time and I would imagine he’ll be telling tales of miracle turns, life saving rivers…and of course…THAT flop.
It’s been a thoroughly enjoyable tournament and will continue tomorrow with the final 8 players chasing the first place prize of €595,839. However, for us (get your tissues out) the story ends here. It’s been wonderful keeping you all up to date on the action and I hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as I have. Perhaps our paths will cross again one day…
…but for now, “Viszlát!”
