86 people go through to Day 3…

On a day where we lost 6 of our Partners players, 3 earned safe passage through to tomorrow’s 2009 Aussie Millions Day 3. A grand total of 86 people are through to Day 3 from the 681 that started the event at 12:30 on Sunday afternoon.

The explosive day of poker for Christian Heich resulted in the Red Kings playing taking 168,500 through with him. Veli-Pekka Penttinen stood up and was counted today, as he overcame difficulty upon difficulty. I can’t recall how many times the Red Kings player almost got to half of the average stack only to be chopped down. The young Finn looks tired and confirms it when I ask. He tells me “It’s been a tough day”. He’s done exceptionally well to make it through to Day 3, and has shown great composure throughout the entire day. As I approached “Souri” of Prime Poker, he looks at me opens his eyes wide, and exhales a giant breath! He tells me his table was “crazy”. Every time he had a reasonable hand, someone always went over the top in a big way, and he’d be forced to fold. He also informs me “It’s been a really tough day”. The Frenchman has played very consistent today, and takes 72,300 onwards to Day 3. The average stack is now 158k.

Christian Heich of Red Kings – 168,500
Veli-Pekka Penttinen of Red Kings – 79,800
“Souri” of Prime Poker – 72,300

It has been a day that needed patience, endurance and of course…decent hands. The players will rest now and return here at 12:30 to continue their quest for the AUD $2,000,000 prize!
